Add New Store: Store sells All items/ This item only/ None

Support Supervisor -

1. If you add a New Store in the Store tab on the right:

Choose Sells None Items in the List or Sells All Items in the List:

2. If you add a New Store in item's Details:

Choose Sells This Item Only or Sells All Items in the List:

If you already assigned Any item to a Specific store, the app remembers that, and next time you add the item to you List - it will automatically assign the item to that store.

In order to unlink an item from a store - take off the check mark from that Store in item's Details->Store list

If you have too many "wrong" items assigned to a Store - might be easier to delete the Store and re-add it considering choices mentioned above.

    OK ... So what do you do when the name of the store doesn't show up in the list of available vendors?

    Hi Don, you can manually add the store by pressing "+" button.

    Another way to do this is allow a choice for an Item to be available in all my stores. Right now if I list 'batteries', I have to select all the stores in which I could buy batteries. Otherwise, if I chose only Walmart as the store, when I go to the grocer's or convenience store I won't know that I need that battery as it only shows up on the list for Walmart.

    All things considered, assigning items to a specific store is rather like trying to nail jelly to a tree. After you add an item to a specific store everything is all well and good until you add another store. At that point you either have to select "sells none" and load your personal item list for that store piecemeal, or configure it for "...all items". The "all items" designation blindly adds the new store to every item on your personal list regardless if its been previously sole sourced to another shop. Within a short time all originally single source items are attached to multiple stores and chaos reigns.

    On a side note to this issue you might want to fix this. When you have items on a list from a store other than the one currently selected it would be awfully nice if the other stores were at least displayed so you might have a clue what the other items might be. Right now you just get a cryptic message indicating some item on the list is only available at a specific store but the software doesn't give you even a hint about what that item may be or what store it's from.

    One other comment, if the store you are trying to add is in another town the software will never find it in the database because its apparently focused only on the location of your device and stores within apparently a 10 mile radius of that location. It would be really useful to have a manual location override by maybe town name or ZIP code.

    I have an Galaxy S4 Android .. I can't even get back to the store screen!  What a waste of 3 or 4 bucks.

    When I edit an item using the Web site form, the drop-down menu for stores always says "1 store" and indeed one store is marked on. This despite the fact that (on iPhone) most items are listed in 2, 3, up to 6 stores. I reported this as a bug but I haven't heard back.

    What a store sells should be a learned item. E.g. if Mike bought Uncle John's Smoked Bacon Bits at Smurfville General Store, then after the next update, anyone who adds UJSBB to their list will see it marked as being available at SGS

    The potential for GG to be a crowd sourced empowerment for shoppers is incredible:

    • Photograph your receipts. This through OCR updates the price database for your area. It also updates what's available in your store. It also produces a log of your purchases for the year for analysis later. E.g. You can ask it to do a pantry plan based on your previous year's purchases. It sees that you bought salsa 16 times, and suggests that you buy a case, and that historically the best price for salsa is in October.

    That database can also suggest that you alternate shopping between two stores on alternate weeks. Some things, you buy at whatever store you're at. Other things, you buy two weeks worth.

    Be nice to associate classes of items with particular stores. E.g. We go to COBS or BonTon for bread -- anything to do with baking. Fresons for local meat, but not anything else, Superstore for dogfood and gouda cheese. Save-On for most things, Bulk barn for spices, costco for cheese, batteries, and nuts. The last one is a per item store.

    How can I use the app with just items ONLY. I don't need ANY store relationship - so therefore - I don't even want any stores listed besides a "generic" default store containing everything in my list.
